Google PageRank Update at the End of Year
Finally : Dec 31, 2008 and Google has updated PR (PageRank) again. Most of my domains and websites are better now. GeekPoint’s home page is still PR5, but many threads are now with an increased PR.
My Paid directory was banned from PageRank in the previous update and it remained PR0 in this update too. My main blog is still PR3 and one of my other blog got a PR4. A Bidding directory that was PR4, is down to PR3. The best thing is this blog (GeekPoint Blog) is now PR4.
At DigitalPoint Forum, some people started reporting a PR update since December 22.
This time it looks like Google has changed its PR algorithm quite a bit. The PR of a domain/page seems more accurate. If you have a site-wide link then it’s worth less than a single link on a page with PR. Google now knows better about paid links and it’s getting better day by day.
Add a comment about your site’s PR too.

Most of my sites are still the same. One site though and that is the first time it happened to me at least, lost 1 rank while the blog of the site gained one. The blog is more frequently updated than the older html website. Means now main pages can get lesser pr than pages behind the scene.

I hate Google….they are horrible to the small timer that is trying to make it. They suck! And I am not about to spend a dime on advertising with them.

@George: Something similar at GeekPoint… Blog is a PR4, but the Forum-Home is PR0. (And the Forum is the main section of the site.)

@Shadab.
As I can see GeekPoint is PR5.
I Can’t find PR0 in any PR checker.

My there are no changes in my site. I’ve joined forums and put links on and one time I got hundreds of unique visitors but after that day it goes back to less than 50 unique visitors.

I’ve had some of my client’s sites bounce around quite a bit recently. It’s always fun to ride the wave and try to anticipate what is going to happen next.
The bottom line is…contribute quality content, give real value, and you can’t go wrong.

We have been working on our PR, search engine rankings, etc. for some time now. It’s always a challenge, and I’ve enjoyed reading your blog very much.

My website has PR3 for about 6 months, and then 1 week ago dropped to 1.
I have no paid links pointing to my website and I am not using reciprocal links. Also I am not using any other strategies which are not accepted by Google.
I decided not to worry too much about the page rank anymore.

Hi,
My Web site is http://www.bat-bat.com/ and I didn’t get any paid links.
What do you offer to me to get paid links? Must I do it?

I can only see a PR2 for geekpoint. Has it dropped it’s PR.
I have just started to try for a PR, never bothered before.

how’s PR affects the recent updates in Google’s algorithm? Is this post still relevant to that?
